36. Is this really how you see me?

James couldn't wait to see Nora after his therapy session was over. He just wanted to hold her again. It was nice to have something to look forward to for once. The therapy session wasn't as bad as he thought it was going to be. It was with a woman who was in her forties with a kind voice and gentle motherly eyes. Not that he had ever seen motherly eyes, but that's how he imagined they would look like. His mother merely looked at him as a nuisance. His earliest memory of her was when she beat him with a wire hanger for barging into her room while she entertained a strange man. He still sported scars on his back that reminded him of her every day. He never liked to talk about her with anyone, but the therapist reopened those wounds because talking about them and embracing them will help
