Vicker walked out the room. He didn’t even stop to answer as he rushed out to the car. Mae walked to the door, and watched him wrap his arms around the woman. Time seemed to stop as his arms tightened around her, and he lifted her off her feet. Mae stared at them stunned. Her throat constricted, strapping air in her lungs. For a minute she couldn’t breathe as the woman’s hair flowed over Vicker’s shoulder in black strains that looked glossy. She was gorgeous, she thought, as Vicker pulled away from her, and stared at her as if she hung the moon that was slowly rising up into the sky. Something like jealousy crawled into her stomach. Mae gasped, taking a step away from the door. She turned away feeling strange. She walked to the bathroom, and splashed water on her face. She stared at herse
