Lordic paced the length of his sitting area. Handing over Maximus to Celeste was sounding better and better, the longer he thought about it. But he wasn’t sure he could pull it off. Maximus had ruled them from arm’s length without fail for years because he was that brilliant. He was lethal and brutal – he made no mistakes, except for Vicker.
