            Soren sat silently in the driver’s seat on the way back to my old apartment. Gosh. It had been so long since I stayed there that I didn’t feel right calling it mine anymore. I got used to the idea of my home being wherever Joel was, but he clearly wasn’t ready for this type of commitment. He never wanted to listen to anything that I had to say. I wouldn’t stand around and push myself onto someone. If he wanted to be with me, he would have heard me out instead of jumping straight to conclusions.             As Soren pulled up to my apartment, he reached over to stop me from unbuckling my belt. “Listen, I know that I have no right to ask this of you, but don’t give up on him, Eve. Joel loves you.” He finally let go of my belt when he realized that I would stay to hear him out. “
