Chapter 46 I woke up that morning with a sense of expectation. We were going to be alone, mostly. Mary was going to follow, but she’d been instructed to stay at a distance. All night, I had felt him against me. I thought that maybe he would give in. Take me there in the middle of the night. I had barely been able to contain myself.
