Killian's shaking slows, and he shifts back into human form in my arms. I'm wrapped around him completely naked and anyone could pass by. He must notice the same thing because he shifts us into the water at the edge of the stream. He sits so that we are in up to our shoulders with me in his lap.
He looks at me seriously and says, "You jump that distance regularly?"
"Yes," I say. I tilt my head to the side and ask, "Are you not good at jumping?"
"Babe, no one is that good. I've never seen anyone get that kind of height and distance," he says, exasperated. "When you jumped I nearly had a heart attack, I was ready to jump in and catch you in the stream."
I laugh and say, "I wouldn't even consider that a risky jump and if I felt I was going to miss the far bank I would have shifted to land
