"Mother, what are you doing here?" Aaron asks as he stands between me and my mother. I can hear a formality in his tone that was never there before with my mother and I can see that their relationship has changed.
"Imagine my surprise when someone reported to me that Josephine was here in the boys' training ground," she says, flustered. "I came down immediately. Now I see that she was with my sons and none of them bothered to call. Do you have no respect for me? I have been worried sick about this girl!"
