We spend the last week at Half Crescent pack helping out with the changes needed at the orphanage. It's amazing how resilient kids are. They were so responsive and cooperative along the way and you could tell they were thrilled to go to public school. I would have moments of feeling sad when I saw how happy the kids would get at the smallest improvements. These are such good, kind-hearted kids that did not deserve to be treated like outcasts. It was basically like prison.
It's also been great seeing the outpouring of support from the community. As soon as it was announced that the kids could be visited at any time and that they could be signed out for visits with family or friends on evening and weekends, there was a constant flow of people coming in and out the front entrance.
