Theo's POV Like always, I wake up before the sun because my dreams aren't half as exciting as spending a single moment with Laila. They can't compare. And yesterday, oh, it was magical. Watching Laila run around in the flowers, in the sun, and watching her discover her freedom was incredible. I will never forget the massive smile on her face for so long. That might have been the best day of my life. She's just so cute! "Theo!" Mom runs into the kitchen, pulling the skillet I was cooking eggs on off the stove. "You nearly burned the packhouse down!" she sighs, dumping the burned eggs into the garbage. "Sorry, Mom," I sigh. Mom sighs, leans against the counter, and crosses her arms. "What's the dumb look for? And why are you up so early? Thinking about Laila again." "Yeah." I smile.
