The first days in his new home were long and difficult for Timothy. No one would tell him when he could go home and eventually; he stopped asking. The house he lived in was very odd to him. People would come into the shop and often comment on how old things were and say things like "can you believe people once used things like this?" and "How did people survive before modern conveniences?" To Timothy things like a record player or toaster were wondrous. Yet the only room that held any interest for him was the library in a small area in the back of the shop. It was a cramped space with a chipped and stained tile floor.
