The Knowlora system had been occupied by the Sirkin for nearly 300 years until their retreat seven years ago. All five planets in the system were uninhabitable, but the fifth one, a gas giant, had 29 moons and of those three were capable of supporting carbon-based life forms. The Knowloran people were a simple, sloth-like race that never had any interest in outside worlds or elaborate technology. The system they inhabited was full of rich ore, fuels, and minerals that made their worlds of moons a prize to be had. They had been conquered several times over the millennia by a number of races and were most recently under the control of the Sa'larie.
