Dr. Carol Gould stopped in the hall of Deck 5 Omega 2 of the Med-Bay. Closing her eyes, she took in three deep breaths, held the last one for a moment, slowly let it out, opened her eyes and moved forward.
The medical bay took up five decks in the center of the Phoenix. Set up like a hospital the top level was emergency care and surgery. The next two levels down were the ICU and recovery. The last two were offices, labs, and pharmaceutical. Despite two-thirds of the crew having been evacuated the 300 beds in recovery and 50 in the ICU still were not enough to handle the 500 plus injured in the most recent attacks.
