The training arena felt different today. More pack members had gathered to watch. They sat on the bleachers like they were waiting for a show. I tried to ignore their stares as I wrapped my hands. But I could feel their eyes on me. Almost like the idiots were waiting for me to lose control again. "You ready?" Rika asked. Her arm was still in a sling, but she looked fierce as ever. I nodded, even though I didn't feel ready at all. Something was off today. My body felt heavy and slow. Like all the fire from yesterday had burned out. "Same rules," Rika said. "Hit me like you mean it." We started circling each other. The crowd went quiet, watching. Rika came at me fast. I blocked her first punch, but barely. She threw another combination.
