Axel I checked my watch for the third time in five minutes. She was late. Of course she was late. Zara had always run on her own schedule. Even when we were kids, she'd show up to pack meetings whenever she felt like it. "She'll be here," Calla said softly beside me. We sat in the corner booth of a quiet diner about twenty miles from Ravenridge. Far enough from pack territory that we wouldn't be recognized. Close enough that we could get back quickly if needed.
