Axel I caught Calla as she collapsed, her body shaking violently in my arms. Blood streamed from her nose, bright red against her pale skin. "Calla!" I dropped to my knees, pulling her against my chest. Her eyes rolled back, showing only white. Her whole body convulsed like she was having a seizure. Pack members rushed toward us from all directions. Their voices mixed together in a mess of panic and fear. "What the f**k is wrong with her now?" "Is she dying?" "I told you she was cursed!" That last comment made me growl low and dangerous. The pack member who said it stepped back quickly. "Everyone back!" I roared. "Give her space!" But they didn't listen. They kept crowding around, some looking pissed, others suspicious. "She's bringing bad luck to the pack," someone muttered. "
