The night air felt heavy as Eden and I crouched behind the old dumpster. The smell of garbage mixed with something else. Something cold and dead that made my wolf pace under my skin.

"Two guards at the front door," I whispered into my earpiece. "Can't see inside from here."
"Copy that," Axel's voice crackled back. "Hold position. Don't engage unless necessary."
I clicked off the radio and looked at Eden. Her mismatched eyes were focused on the warehouse across the street. The runes on her arms glowed faintly in the darkness due to her keeping hold on her magic in case.
"You sense anything?" I asked quietly.
