Chapter 18: Late

240 Words
“Mind explaining, what’s the meaning of this, Ayesha?” I asked her as she got near me to give a light peck on my cheeks. I am already used about her stubbornness, but to think she would push this far was way below the belt already.   “Simple. I am acting on your behalf, president as you didn’t arrive on time. Isn’t it enumerated in the powers of vice president?” she answered, still with a smile in her face as if putting up a show for the onlookers, when she’s obviously being sarcastic.   “Oh! Big thanks to the one who locked me inside that I am late,” I answered and threw a sharp look at Ayesha’s closest aide, Roxie. She was in charge of locking the door- the key holder. It was a good thing I didn’t put my spare key on my bag.   I answered Ayesha’s fake smile with my own and walked toward the center seat she was once occupied. This was the rightful chair for the club president, I guess.   I know very well, what happened was not an accident. Given it was perfectly aligned on an important situation like this, I assume, they are up to something. Too bad, I made my way back.   And what more? Ironically, it was his brother Stephen Curts that helped me out.
