Chapter 10: The Bluffers

637 Words
“Hey! Isn’t that Caleb Stuart? The point guard of the Black Hawkins Men’s Basketball. Kyaaaahh,” someone on the side said as if withstanding the presence of the teacher in front. I could see a literal heart shapes forming in her eyes as most of the girls in the class looked at the Stuart guy at the back.   Intrigue, I also looked at his direction intently and gosh! How come I missed to appreciate his superior facial features earlier? Caleb Stuart had a blond spiky hair and a fair complexion, you wouldn’t think he was an athlete based on his seemingly dermathologist  cared skin. It made sense because basketball was played in a covered court and polished wooden floors.   Just when everyone was lost on admiring the guy at the back, another presence came in front.   “Good morning, Sir. My apology for being late as I had to do some important task relating the men’s basketball club before I come here,” the newly entered guy explained, which happens to be the guy hooking up on the stairs just a moments ago. Now his making up excuses huh? He must be used to it already.   “I helped Van with it, Sir,” the other guy on his side, who came along him, agreed.   Professor Sabado just threw them a blank look, implying his half doubt on their reasoning. Indeed, he had a sharp ears, and perhaps a sharp hunch too.   Van and the other guy proceeded on the reserved seat at the back beside that Caleb Stuart guy like as if nothing happened. They were late for Pete’s sake, why can’t they at least a pang of disappointment or dismay at all when I pushed my limits earlier just to come on time despite the more valid reason I had why I am late compared to them… I mean, him. Giovanni Hunters.   He was looking smug and cool on his late arrival, which I couldn’t blame him though, with the fantasizing and drooling look he received from all the girls in the class except for me and Bella… wait-- what? You got to be kidding me. Even Bella Parker was looking interested with the basketball club president.   Holy freak! He was receiving all admiration he doesn’t deserve at all. No offense to his looks as I cannot deny the fact myself how superior was his visual was with those thick eyebrows he has, high cheekbones, pointed nose, plump lips, and well-defined jawlines, plus the way his messy black hair just wave to the right was all superb- to simply put, he’s dashingly good looking. Oh! One more thing, being a six footer was one of his greatest assets!   Come on Lalisa, you’re starting to sound more like those fan girls with a hearty sparkles on their eyes. My mind snapped me back.   Shaking my head, I pushed aside the thought. It was never been good to lie to a professor, especially when the root of that lie was not something of any essence at all. Does he think he can get away with this just so easily after he lavishly ravished a blonde when he was suppose to enter class already.   I don’t see any reason why would I let Professor Sabado be deceived with their club excuses. Hooking up with someone wasn’t a club related activity to start with, or was it?   I raised my hand to grab everyone’s attention.   “Yes, Miss Bartolome,” Professor Sabado gave me the permission to speak out my mind.   Taking a deep breath, I stood up and shot a deadly glare at the back, more specifically on Hunters.
