I didn't leave my room for the rest of the night. However, I got up early the next morning, went downstairs, grabbed a coffee, and sat outside with a cigarette, watching the patrols move through the forest. I couldn’t believe it—my mate and my ex were both under the same roof as me. Could things get any more awkward?
I heard someone in the house behind me, and shortly after, someone stepped out the back door.
"Angel," I said without turning around.
"So, you and Alpha Axel," he replied, a hint of disdain creeping into his voice.
"What do you mean by that?" I shot back, glancing at him with a stern look.
