MADISON POV I lay on the cold floor of my cell, watching the sunrise filtering through the small window. Sleep had eluded me during my two months of captivity. As I reflected on my situation, I caught sight of Mara pacing nearby. Suddenly, a terrifying noise shattered the calm, echoing up the staircase. I leaped to the door, straining to see through the gaps in the wood. The unmistakable roar of wolves filled the air as glass shattered and parts of the castle crumbled around me. My heart raced. Wolves. “Axel,” I whispered, panic welling up in my chest. I dashed to the window and saw wolves surrounding the castle, scaling the cliff like a dark tide. Fear gripped me, yet a thrill of excitement coursed through me at the thought that Axel hadn’t given up; he was out there fighting for me.
