I headed back to the bedroom and changed into some clean clothes, but Axel was nowhere to be found. As I stepped into the hallway, I noticed that it was eerily quiet; there was no one around. Then it hit me that when we returned to the packhouse, only Jordan had been there. I wasn’t sure if he had stuck around or if he had left after we arrived.
