We managed to wait out the earthquake while watching the ground crack all the way from the packhouse towards town and when it was over we started running towards the town.
The emergency services and warriors had regained their senses and were trying to put out the fires that were scattered around town and Axel and Holden ran straight in to try and start helping them. But I stood there in shock. The town that I grew up in was practically destroyed. The main street of town was split down the middle, various buildings were on fire and some had such structural damage that they weren't going to be able to open again until they were fixed. Cars were flipped on their roofs and some were on fire. It looked like a gang had gone through rioting the whole place.
