Chapter 19: The Undersea City
Jafar al-Sharif and Cari turned and walked away from the tree Raffiliz. This time they encountered no barriers, no bramble bushes or other obstacles to delay their departure. When they reached the periphery of the tree’s overhanging umbrella, Cari lifted her master up into the air once more and flew him all the way back to Hauvarta’s Shield, thus avoiding any further dangers the Isle of Illusions might have in store for the unwary. The two of them again felt the embarrassment of such closeness, and their mutual discomfort compelled them to silence on the journey back. Fortunately, Cari flew quickly, and they reached the ship before the silence became too painful.
