Caris sat in Virgil’s living room and faced her mother Saturday evening. She had agreed to come to see her without Garth and Killian being present, but she had brought a lawyer. Caris was fine with it. She had her two best friends, Virgil, Boone, and Brea surrounding her for support. Virgil’s wife Sarah had brought tea and then left. If Aileen needed support in the form of a lawyer, so be it.
