The Blessing of Eli

2594 Words

Clayton My son’s cries echo through the foggy wasteland I find myself wandering in. I have searched for him for days is how it feels. “Eli!” I shout into the nothing. I can hear him, but I cannot find him. “Eli!” I cry and drop to my knees. The cold fog envelops me as I feel hopeless. ‘Your son is here,’ Jericho’s voice echoes, and I look up to see my wolf standing inches from me. His brown eyes are furrowed as he stares at me. “Where?” I cry in desperation. My wolf sits on his haunches and pants, ‘He is here, Clayton,’ He repeats. ‘You have to open your eyes,’ His voice echoes in my head. “My eyes are open, Jericho!” I shout in the wolf’s face. He growls at me, ‘Open your eyes, Clayton. That is the only way you will ever see your son,’ Jericho states, then disappears into the fog.
