Chapter Five

Drake's POV:
I started my first day as Hunter's personal secretary. At first I checked his schedule and then I went to his cabin to notify him and to ask whether he needed any extra file for that meeting or not.
I knocked at the door.
"Come in." I heard and got in.
"So what brings you here?" Hunter asked withou even taking a look at me. He was reviewing the data of the previous meeting. He looks busy, marking his lines as he's reading the documents thoroughly. His perfectly black crisp suit with a jet black tie and the glasses actually make a killer combo anyone would die for.
This is the first time I have seen him working. Looks like he is quite serious about his work. The glasses look sexy on him though he looks hot without them too. When did he start wearing those?
No! I can't think about this! What am I even doing? Ain't I supposed to work?
"Hey? You ok? You are acting weird..nevermind you are always weird!"
Hunter asked when he saw me shaking my head to get rid of his thoughts. Obviously I won't tell him the reason. Well its been ages since we separated but I really can't deny the fact that he wasn't on my mind because ever since we separated, its not like I was able to let another person in my life.
"No sir! It's nothing." I realized that I already had started tearing up a bit as I ended up replaying my past again and again. I can't help it. My feelings were shut for years but now the wounds are so fresh just starting from the time I saw him. But the feelings residing in my heart was mixed of hurtful love and anger.
"Sir You have a meeting with this company tonight." I said as I showed him the file. He looked at it and then again got back to what he was doing. "Fine! Get ready then..We will be leaving at 8."
"Umm sir?" I asked in a confused tone.
Was he going to take me along with him? But I just joined. I will probably embarrass myself.
"Don't make me repeat what I said. When I ask you to do something, I don't want any questions. Just DO IT!" He said in a cold tone
"Y..Yes sir!" I take my leave and then start checking my other works so I can finish them by 8.
I didn't want to engage in a further conversation with him so I left the room as fast as I could. Actually I don't get the feel of that old Hunter anymore.
Ugh. Since when did he become so grumpy like that?
I thought to myself but just at that time my phone was buzzing. I was somewhat irritated when I answered the phone but was relieved when heard the news.
"Thankyou so much." I said as i hung up
"You sure have quite a lot of time to be talking over your phone." I turned around as saw Hunter. I hurriedly hid my phone and muttered a sorry.
"Your sorry doesn't make my money. Now get back to work. Get the files from AR corporations." He spat
I didn't bother to talk back. It will be an futile attempt anyways.

By 8 pm, I got all my work done and now I was waiting for Hunter to finish his work so we could leave. But I was really tired for the day. Its the first day and I already worked my ass off today. The moment I finished sorting out the documents, I felt my eyelids getting heavier. I sighed and closed my eyes.
"Hey get up!" I heard Hunter calling me. I realize that I had fallen asleep while waiting for him in his cabin. I hurriedly woke up and stood straight before him.
"S..sorry sir." I muttered
"Oi wake up you little brat! And wipe your drool. You are still like a kid!" He yelled ignoring the fact that I was really tired by now. All I wanted was to go home, get changed on my pjs and off to bed.
Getting my sleep disturbed is really something I hate and out of habit I started blurting out words.
"Did you just call me a brat? Huh? Mr. Grumpy?" I talked back
I saw his surprised face but I still continued. All he did today was f*****g order me around the whole day, made me memorize extra unnecessary data, had me bring over coffee to him every damn hour, redoing the whole thing it wasn't to his liking and most importantly being an asshole to me.
"What do you expect me to do when I have such a grumpy boss who gave me a pile of work on the first day I joined? You are the brat here. Brat! Grumpy! Rude! Inconsiderate Jerk, insensiti-" I was cut off when I saw the angry expression on his face. I could see the color of his eyes getting darker and the frown between his eyebrows increased. Okay I kinda think I'll be yelled at. No! f**k kinda! I'm sure enough.
Damnit. I said too much!
I wished I could take my words back now but it's was impossible.
"Brat? Grumpy? Rude? Inconsiderate Jerk? Insensitive? Huh?" He started approaching me repeating what I said
I backed off because of pure instinct. His eyes were never leaving mine. His perfect face now had somewhat a big frown.
Shit. He's angry! I'm in trouble!
I meekly apologized. "S..sorr-" I was cut off when Hunter grabbed my hand and pulled me towards him wrapped one of his arms around my waist and the other arm was caressing my cheek gently. His hands were gripping me tight enough. Well I won't lie about the fact that I didn't put much of a resistance but I tried to. Its really something else when Hunter's involved.
I was scared at first but then it reminded me how we used to be like in the past. I shoved those thoughts off me. But I was still within Hunter's grip having no idea about what to do.
Slowly Hunter's hands started cupping my face when he removed his arm around my waist and shifted on my cheek. He brought his face closer to mine. The scent of his colonge mixed with with musky scent was intoxicating. I always have liked the way he smelled.
All I could see was Hunter's face getting closer and closer to mine. Our faces were just an inch apart. Our noses were already touching. I looked into Hunter's beautiful hazel eyes and closed mine decided to go with the flow.
"Owww...owww... owww..It Hurts! What the hell are you doing jerk?!" I yell at him as he pinched my cheeks hardly. It's paining so much. I hate him. He's such a meanie.
I actually thought that he was going to kiss me. I am an i***t!
I looked at Hunter furiously who was chuckling as he saw my reaction. I felt like an i***t. I just made a fool out of myself.
"What? Were you expecting something?" He asked while chuckling
"Shut the heck up! I wasn't expecting ANYTHING!" I shout to make him go quiet but he just laughed more making me angrier.
I fume in anger as I saw him laugh. After having a good laugh he poked my cheeks
"Hey! Stop sulking! Your cheeks are already round. And puffing your cheeks like that makes me want to squish them even more!"
I backed off immediately. "Uhh..let's go to the meeting we are getting late!" He sighed and said
"Yeah let's go." He went out of the cabin.
I was going to leave too but then I looked at my face in my phone and touched my cheeks. Are they really round and puffed up?
"Babe! Checking your puffy cheeks out?"I heard Hunter saying as he came up from behind and stretched my cheeks.
I just remebered how he used to call me that when we were dating.
"No! Let's go now!" I hit Hunter on his chest softly while he is still busy in making fun of me.
After we came out of the office, we walked up to Hunter's car. I was surprised seeing the car. I even saw the name plate so there's no mistaking it.
"Yeah yeah! I know about the morning incident today. A little kid jumped in front of my car." He said with a grin.
He did that on purpose! This guy! Ugh..I haaaaate him!
