He strode toward me, ignoring all the curious eyes around us or the fact that River and Liam look equally shocked to see him here. Daniel’s eyes were all mine as he raised his arms, about to pull me into a hug when Liam stepped forward, blocking his way like a steel wall.
“What do you think you’re doing?” Liam’s voice was low and menacing, his green eyes narrowing into slits.
River let out a long, exaggerated sigh. “What’s he doing here, Allison? I’ve got enough pricks to deal with today.”
Daniel stopped short, his gaze flicking to Liam and River as if noticing them for the first time. The usual softness on his face quickly melted into a cold expression. Damn, I didn’t know he was capable of looking so intimidating.
“I’m here for Allison,” he answered, his voice firm.
