ALLISON. I didn’t know when I drifted off, but the world shifted in an instant, suddenly a familiar cold, suffocating blackness swallowed me whole. When the vision cleared, I was fourteen again, crouched behind a pile of rubble with Quinn at my side. The sharp smell of smoke and blood clawed at my nose. I could hear the screams of our fellow packmates and see the pile of corpses scattered everywhere. My chest tightened as fire licked the charred remains of our pack, the red glow painting the night sky was something out of a nightmare. It was the Outworld Bloodbath. The red-hooded witches moved like shadows through the flames, their faces obscured beneath crimson fabric as they cast spells and lit homes ablaze.
