Discoveries and Confrontations

Aurora had woken up the next morning surprised she had gotten a full decent sleep. More importantly when she realized she was in a man's bed she didn't flip her s**t.  Never in her life had she spent the night over a man's house that wasn't family.  But she smelt Mateo's cologne, felt his warm body under hers as he stroked gentle fingers through her hair. Aurora didn't make any hasty movements, she instead she laid there in his arms. Breathing in his scent as he held her.  Mateo sighed knowing they'd have to get up eventually and whispered, "Hey? You awake?" Aurora slowly lifted her head, "Good morning." Mateo smiled at her and whispered, "I'm going to have clothes bought for you. Had some of our guys on the force look to make sure nothing was left on the roof you were on."  Aurora hummed, "Gracia Mateo, te debo una." Mateo chuckled and whispered, "You don't owe me s**t, and no more thanks. That's what you do for someone you care about darling." Aurora looked at him not knowing what he meant by care.  Mateo looked at her searching eyes. He knew what she wanted to hear, but she wasn't ready to hear it. Not yet.  "Bathrooms over there if you want to get cleaned up." Aurora nodded and he helped her hobble to the bathroom. When Aurora's clothes came he knocked twice and let her know.  Aurora stood in a towel feeling uneasy and told him to drop them and walk away. She felt comfortable with Mateo with clothes on, naked she was sure she'd pass out.  Mateo looked at her when she came out dressed in black jeans, a grey graphic tank top, and a black hoodie. "You look nice. Breakfast?"  Conversation was light as the pair ate the omelet and coffee Mateo had prepared. Neither went back to their moment last night, or this morning. They sure as hell thought about it.  But Mateo didn't want to push her. And Aurora was too confused on her reaction to Mateo to try and talk to him about it.  When they were done with breakfast, Aurora finally relented, "Will you take me home? I haven't been there all night." Mateo agreed and he reluctantly took her home. When they pulled up to her place Aurora looked at him and quickly admitted, "Last night was great after the getting shot part. I'm...glad you were there and everything else...I never-." Aurora exhaled but Mateo shushed her.  "Hey, don't push yourself beautiful. I know okay? I know." Aurora looked at Mateo and slowly moved forward. Kissing Mateo's cheek she whispered, "Thank you...for everything." Mateo smiled, "Of course. We need to talk to my father so...see you soon."  Aurora blushing wildly nodded, "Yeah, of course, text me." Mateo winked at her making her knees knock as she climbed out of his car. Sliding her shades on, Aurora walked into her building.  Immediately she knew something was off.  Creeping up the stairs she took off her shades. Hearing voices in the hall, she ducked off into the black hall, leading to the janitor's closet.  "Have you noticed anyone in the area off? Being agitated or antsy? Anyone new move in?" A deep voice asked. Aurora listened as Jaxon sighed, "I haven't been here long sir, I'm mostly working or auditioning. I'm the only new person as of late I believe."   Agent Morrison looked down at the model boy in front of him and nodded. Jerking his thumb behind him at the door behind him he asked, "And your neighbor?" Jaxon shrugged, "Aurora, don't know her last name. She's a b***h, a hot one, with a psycho boyfriend. Nothing else I could tell you about her though."  Agent Morrison c****d an eyebrow at him as Aurora suppressed cursing. "What do you mean psycho boyfriend?"  Jaxon shrugged uneasy, "I mean I assume he's her boyfriend. He picked her up a few times. He and two of his friends got in my face when he heard I'd been asking about her. Trying to get close to her. Guess I got too close."  Agent Morrison wrote that down and Jaxon asked, "Why are you asking?" Agent Morrison shrugged, "The team that has been dispatched to handle the serial murders has been here a lot longer than originally led to believe. I was here when she fought with her aunt. We had an interesting conversation."  Agent Morrison presented Jaxon with a card and sternly said, "If she comes home, call me." Jaxon nodded and bid the man a good day. Aurora watched the agent go and waited twenty minutes.  When she was sure the coast was clear she called Mateo urgently, "Hey what's up?" Aurora whispered as she went down the stairs, "We got a problem. A big f*****g problem."  Mateo quickly swung back around to her place, "Come out I'm pulling up." Aurora quickly ran back out of the building and pulled up her hood. Dropping her shades to cover her eyes, the minute she came outside, Mateo pulled up in front of her.  Getting inside the car she rattled off her uncle's address. Aurora was boiling mad by the time they got there, she couldn't even answer Mateo when he asked her what was wrong.  Banging on her uncle's door, seconds go by until Cypher answered. "Before you start...who the f**k is he?" Pushing past Cypher Aurora found her pale auntie sitting at the table holding her uncle's hand.  "You talked to an F.B.I agent? Are you f*****g stupid!?" Aurora yelled. Sophia winced as Pablo fixed his niece a look, "Watch it." Aurora ignored him as Sophia tearfully cried, "I was upset when we fought. I came out and he was just there, he asked if I wanted to talk about it."  Aurora let out a bitter laugh, "So of course you told a complete stranger about your criminal niece?" Sophia shook her head, "No! I just told him you had issues, you were an alcoholic, and that you refused help."  Aurora made a noise of frustration, "Yeah well now he's back asking f*****g questions and wanting to be notified when I come home! Thanks a f*****g bunch! Hope you feel better."  Pablo looked at Aurora angry, "She talked to someone out of love and concern for you! God Aurora stop it!" Aurora made a noise of anger, "Ugh this is so f*****g pathetic! You want me to hold her hand and baby her when she's a grown f*****g woman!"  Cypher tried to tell her to calm down but Aurora was beyond furious now, "Okay am I the only one realizing that Sophia's big mouth is going to put me in a cell twenty to life? Gah this is why you don't work with weak people!"  Sophia was in tears which is all she was good for and Aurora could feel her stress building. Looking to Mateo she whispered, "If he's looking for me I'm either a suspect or looking good for a piece in the puzzle."  Mateo nodded but before he could say anything Pablo spoke up, "Which is why we think it's best you and Cypher head to Rio for awhile. We have family there that could put you two up."  Mateo frowned not liking that idea. He didn't like it at f*****g all.  The hulk like african american man continued to stare him down and Mateo didn't flinch back from the stare.  He instead got ready in case the prick wanted to square up with him.  But Aurora was woman enough to speak for her damn self.  "I'm not going no f*****g where! s**t stop trying to think you know what's best for me!" Aurora snapped at her uncle. Sophia sniffled and pleaded with her niece, "Sweetie please, just go-."  "NO!" Aurora shouted getting pissed to the point of no return, "God damn it I'm so sick and tired of you trying to force me to live the way you want me to! I'm not your daughter Sophia and if I need a reminder on what a broken psycho I am I will look in the f*****g mirror!"  Aurora rubbed her tears away as she glared at her family, "I'm sorry I wasn't the perfect little girl you all tried to raise. I tried to be better, I tried to keep what I was doing away from you as much as possible. But you refused to let up Sophia and now you talked to a cop so I would have no choice but to stop and run!"  Sophia shook her head sobbing, "That's not true!" Aurora actually screamed in frustration," For f***s sakes stop crying! Grow some f*****g balls or at least a spine!"  Sophia gasped as Aurora set in on her, "Sophia you are the most judgemental woman I have ever met and your "care" for me has put me in more jeopardy than anything that I've done. From now on, just don't care. Stop all love and motherly feelings you have for me."  Aurora started to leave but Cypher grabbed her hand, "Hey wait, listen we might be able to have a smooth shot to the airport kid. We won't get another shot."  Aurora snatched from him, "Cypher I'm not going anywhere with you. I don't f*****g run, when backed into a corner, I fight my way out of it." Aurora then turned and looked at Mateo, "We're leaving." Looking back at her uncle she told him flatly, "You wanted to be done with the familia? Consider you done."
