Ash tapped his foot furiously. The airlock cycle seemed like an eternity.
He was back. Finally back, back home.
Back to what?
Dot had only told him few things about the new situation aboard the generation fleet.
One. The men were all gone. Dead. Killed.
Two. They’d probably kill him too, so he’d have to hide.
Three. Unspoken, but still a valid point: He’d have to entrust his life to Dot. A girl he’d never seen before, but with which she had spoken with about everything and anything for months.
