Weak. Dazed. Light-headed.
My eyelids fluttered but I didn’t have the strength to open them fully. My body didn’t feel like my own. The strangest sensations in both my arms made me want to lift my head and take a look at what was happening to me, but my body refused to cooperate. Slowly, faint voices in the distance woke my senses. Male voices. Angry voices. I kept my eyes shut and tried to focus on what was being said.
“This is so f*cked up, Caspian. You said it yourself, she is one of us. How can you do this to her?”
“She WAS one of us. But she won’t stick by us. Not now she knows who she is. This is what we need to win, Aldo. I have a plan and this will all be worth it when you see what her blood can do, I promise.”
