Aldo POV
I paced the gravel driveway outside Nellie’s parents’ house with my hands in my jeans pockets and head hung low. I couldn’t help but feel like all of this was my fault. That I was responsible for all this pain and suffering even if it wasn’t directly through my hands.
Joseph was dead, Lark was in pieces and Nellie was heartbroken. I may not have been the reason her father was killed, but I was the reason she had to live with the pain of never making things right with him before he died. She didn’t have to say it but I knew that was what was eating away at her the most.
I glanced up at the door of Lark’s modern house in the pack village and sighed.
