Pacing Ezra’s room and shaking my hands out by my sides, I tried to get my nerves under control. In the aftermath of the attack, the pack were distraught. It was more than that. They were fractured. Alina had pulled me to one side after we found Niko’s mum's body and asked if I would stay out of sight for a little while until Logan and her had a chance to speak to her pack. Ezra was instantly annoyed by the idea of hiding me away and when I agreed he seemed surprised, but I understood her reasons.
I was a distraction and one that many of the pack would feel uneasy about. After yesterday’s attack, Logan and Alina needed to be there for their people and put their minds at ease about my return before facing the reality that their future Alpha’s mate is a tribrid that has been lost
