“Fancy a dip before we head back?” I ask Ruby as she reaches for her dress. That was possibly the best moment of my life to date. Marking each other as one for eternity. She was officially mine forever.
She pauses and looks back at me in surprise. “It will be freezing. And it’s dark! You can’t see what’s beneath you!”
“The all-powerful Ruby Romano, scared of a little cold water. Your secret is safe with me,” I tease and she hits my chest with a scowl.
“Fine,” she smirks as she stands up and walks to the edge of the platform. I chuckle to myself. I know her so well. She will never back down from a challenge, especially when it is me challenging her. Stubborn as they come. I watch as she hesitates, toes curling over the edge. I lean back on my hands and smirk. “Need a push?”
