I wasn’t sure what just happened.
One-minute Calli was standing there making sassy digs at Esme and the next, she was catapulting out of the room in a near panic attack. I was trying to put two and two together, but I wasn’t sure what had triggered it. At first, I thought she was upset for Esme. We literally watched that girl’s heart break before our very eyes as his cold words came through the speaker. I almost felt sorry for her and then I remembered what she had been trying to do. Helping to destroy us all.
