Elaine’s P.O.V.
I put my hair up into a bun to keep it out of my face while I work. About an hour passed when I felt a sense of peace fall over the palace which was very unexpected. At the same time, I also realized that no other maid had come into the kitchen in the last hour. Where were they all? Just as this thought crossed my mind, June walked in.
"Are you still working? I wish I could help you." She said and I smiled softly when I heard the sadness and regret in her voice.
"No need to be sad. I'm almost done, but can you tell me why I feel such a sense of peace in the palace all of a sudden?" I asked her while I simultaneously continued to clean the kitchen counter.
