"I thought we were staying the night," Josh said with a sigh, leaning on the arm rest of his seat. My mother sighed, turning onto the highway that went straight to Lethbridge. "Josh, you and I already had this conversation. Even though it was planned to stay at Julie and Derek's place, we are going home. End of story," my mother said flatly. My brother let out a huff, and I rolled my eyes as I stared out the window. The trees raced by, causing my eyes to follow each and every one of them. "Is this because Jade ran out of there so fast she almost knocked over Danny’s grandmother?” Josh asked loudly. "Joshua!" my dad warned, glaring at his son in the rear-view mirror. I shook my head and propped my head up with my elbow, "Josh, just shut your mouth." "Oh, so can I be a mute like you?"
