Chapter 31 “I got the call.” Russell’s voice was loud in the empty restaurant kitchen followed by the clomping of his crutches as he pushed in through the back entry door. Front-of-house service had ended two hours ago, cleanup had finished the hour before, and the restaurant had been Angelo’s alone since. He’d shooed his mother out and started working on the menu for the new restaurant. It needed a different feel, a different flavor. Perhaps northern.
