Nolan My eyes darted across the room on the employees of the financial department who f****d up real bad.. Is this why I pay them? To mess up my company and make things difficult for me? Absolutely not! I could just fire each and everyone for messing up the numbers but that would be another disaster.. "Andrew? " I called out to my secretary who stood on the left of the room.. The motion of my hand was enough for him to bring the file of the list of the employees names.. Handing me the pen and the file, he took two steps behind.. Going through the list of 3 hundreds, only 40 made to my mercy to only handle the financial department while theothers were cut out.. "A week and I want to see the department running smoothly again.. " Andrew nodded and bowed before everyone was dismissed.. Only the first hour and the mood is done for the day.. If not for me to check the reports and finding out the miscalculations then the loss would run more than 30 millions.. It would have been nice for a drink to drown the frustration but the day had just begun with no time to waste... A knock on the door for my permission to come inside.. "Come in.. " The door was pushed open and Matilda, my second secretary walked in with an iPad.. Matilda was only appointed to look after my schedule while Andrew worked like my right hand.. The meeting with the Jakarta company is in 15 minutes, it might last for an hour and half and then we need to leave for Queens Town for the annual meeting with the Cambrian University.. " A frown crept its way to my face remembering that it's that time of the year.. "Send Andrew and few from the management department this time and rescheduled my meetings.. " My fingers danced with the keys of my laptop while Matilda went silent.. I raised my gaze to her to know why she stopped.. "Elder master wants you to e present there sir.. " My stare hardened on her.. "And what did you respond to him? " "I told him that you're packed with work but me told me clear it or he is sending me to North in ice.. " Clearly she was stuck.. But she knew to take one blow and she decided to take that from me... I lils thinned before speaking.. "Why don't I send you there for some fresh air intake for you to come up with good excuse next time? " I can bet she already prepared for it cause this ain't the first time she is taking a blow either from me or that old man who still refuses to stop dominating around.. I rolled my eyes and focused back on the screen in front of me... I honestly wonder what makes this old man invest this much on this one university? Looking at the time I got ip and grabbed my perfectly tailored blazer and walked to the meeting room... 2 hour's later. I sat on the car while eyes focused on my iPad's screen for some obvious work.. Though Queen's Town was not far from King's Town but it took still took 2 hours to reach the university.. I looked out the window towards the familiar town I once grew up in.. My mother used to live here with me till I was 10 and oneday came my grandfather who took us to King's Town.. Then I lived under him to train me to become the successor for the Goldmann and Black gold.. Mom was a resident doctor here and dad was too busy in the company to look after his wife and son.. So busy that he only had the time to have me.. I laughed at the thought internally.. It was only the best ideas to keep me with mom while dad visited occasionally.. But I saw that old man only 10 years later.. I still regret to leave with him that day.. I do wonder what it would be like if I stayed back.. The car came to a halt and Andrew opened the door . He hates wasting time on things that won't come with benefits.. That already happened 3 times by coming here.. Knowing that the next year he will be the chairman, they didn't wanted to mess.. One by one student's from different departments came in and gave in their presentation and proposals.. Nolan knew it would be a flop yet focused but none of them catched his attention.. Everyone was already in cold sweats while Nolan had a poker face.. 2h 45 min and the meeting came to an end and this year goes to the list of flop too.. Nolan's gaze finally shifted to Mr Ashford who dared to not look at him.. "Well... Enjoy till next year.. I don't let people slack when I am in control Mr. Ashford.. " That was an indirect massage that once Nolan is the chairman, he is done with this job.. But he only nodded with Nolan got up and walked out of the room with Andrew following behind.. Walking down the hallway, his ears filled with shouting noises.. Out of curiosity, he looked out to the ground floor from 3rd floor where a fight broke out.. He frowned seeing no one mindingto stop them.. Mr Ashford and other members came into the scene and looked down too and panicked.. "Sir don't mind them-" One look and he shut up immediately.. "Is this how the campus is handled? This doesn't look like a one time fight to me.." They looked diwn from his burning gaze..Slowly he took of the blazer and handed it to Andrew as the weather still didn't cooled down totally.. Opening his cuffs, he rolled up his sleeves and walked down the stairs to the first floor.. The others followed but his raised hand was enough to stop them in tracks.. He was just a few steps away when a hand grabbed his.. "Blue shirt! Are you deaf? How long was I calling you? Get in the cafeteria i***t! " Deaf? i***t? He looked at the girl who dragged him forcibly.. That's the first time someone called him that in his whole life.. His ego was pissed yet somewhat curious about her.. Clearly she grabbed the wrong person with blue shirt.. "Were you really going to mingle with those fuckers? These guys needs only one person to breathe near them and they will start the fight.. " Andrew was quick to reach for the lady but Nolan motioned him to not.. He wanted to see the next.. Soon they reached the cafeteria and she let go of his hand.. She walked to a group who looked like the same age.. "Get a seat dickhead.. Do you know how long it took to get you? Geez.. " His eyes widened for a second but changed to a poker face.. Andrew who hear it chocked but held the cough as Nolan glared at him.. He quietly sat in a chair and for the first time he came face to face with the lady who called him names.. 'Beautiful.. ' The voice rang in his head as he scanned her face.. Sun kissed tan with dark brown hair with matching pair of eyes, botton nose, slightly plump lips.. Perfect.. 'Perfect with a foul mouth.. ' The voice rang and he let out a grin.. "Ok so this is Daniel, he is the newest addition in this.. He is good and finance and he will help with that part.. Oh wait? How was that stupid meeting Dan? " Everyone nodded and that pretty girl sat on one of the table.. "Okay.. So the winter is coming and it it that time of the year when businesses are at its peak working on deals.. So this is our opportunity to seize the opportunity- The session went on for an hour and he just sat there taking notes on the details.. It was so much better than the prepared presentations.. He could open a successful business with no flop.. For the first time he actually felt his time being worth spending on.. " So.. What do you guys think? How's the deal? He is not focused on taking in students who literally are in the 3rd year with no experience.. He is focused on when the meeting will end and he will leave..
