“Tiara, this is phenomenal… what did you put in this?” Elara asked, blinking at me in surprise. “I thought it would be bitter, since we roasted the cacao beans ourselves but it’s surprisingly sweet… and addictive!”
“I added honey and sugar… to balance out the intense bitterness,” I explained softly.
She nodded quickly in understanding, clearly impressed.
I took a slow look around the kitchen. My heart felt so full. Their reactions... the joy, amazement were far more than I had dared hope for. I was truly happy. All our hard work, the long hours, the effort... it had all been worth it.
But… there was still one person I was especially eager to share this with.
