TIARA THORNELLS I didn’t even realize it at first that my arms had fallen to my sides, no longer holding on to him. That’s when he stepped away, putting distance between us, until he was standing no longer in front of me. I just stood frozen, watching helplessly as his presence faded from my room. It was a scene I had witnessed more times. And yet, this time, it felt heavier even more. That’s when I clenched my fists, that simple act could give me the courage I needed just to keep standing.
