I had to return home. Mum had no idea where I was because the note didn't carry details. I was also supposed to pick Cam from school.
Stanley was laying on the couch adjacent the bed trying to get some rest and I didn't want to disturb him so I sent him a text message instead. Then I dropped off a message for him in his dm, dropped a kiss on Serena's forehead and headed for the door. But the moment I turned the handle, a husky voice behind me spoke. “Running already?”
“Trust me, I am not. But I have to pick Cam and also inform mom so she wouldn't have to worry about my whereabout.
“You should have told me.”
“Well, technically, I did. I didn't want to wake you up considering you've had a long morning so I just sent you a text instead. At least I was sure you would see it
