Isaac led her toward the bed slowly, their fingers locked. The second her knees touched the edge, he turned her to face him, then reached for the silk blindfold on the box. “Let’s start here.” Her lips parted. “I don’t know…” He brought the blindfold to her face, his voice low. “Just this for now. You’ll still hear me. You’ll still feel me. Nothing more.” She inhaled slow, then nodded. “Words, Isabel.” “Okay.” He wrapped the silk gently around her head, tying it behind her. It was soft, almost warm against her skin. Her fingers curled around the edge of the mattress behind her as she blinked into nothing.
