Isaac didn’t waste time after Isabel stormed out. He didn’t go after her. His anger was too raw, too sharp. He needed to deal with the rot in his house first. He found Vera in one of the guest lounges. She was sitting on the edge of the sofa, face buried in her hands. She was sobbing, shoulders shaking like she was the victim in all of this. “Stop crying,” Isaac’s voice was low and cold as he shut the door behind him.
