Over the next couple of months, Theodore and his family didn’t intervene. They didn’t do research. They didn’t even ask me about how I was feeling. We went on an incredible world tour and saw every single landmark I had always wanted to see, as well as some I didn’t even know existed.
Julius took us to some off-the-beaten-path places, and I loved all the small intimate restaurants he seemed to know about that weren’t your average tourist attractions. It felt good to just be normal and do normal things with my family.
Before we left on our holiday, Esmeralda took me to an optometrist who had a special pair of contact lenses made for me that covered my black eyes, and it felt incredible to be walking around among normal humans and not be stared at.
