This is a story about two people, completely different, who meet by accident. She is from downtown New York and he is from uptown New York. He works as a successful lawyer and inherited his father’s billions when he passed and she works as a waitress, living pay check to pay check to make ends meet. Her mother is ill, and all her money has to go into her mother’s hospital bills.

I wake up tired and cold. The gas company took the power. Again. I have to shower in cold water again before work. I have a double shift, that means 12 hours on my feet then 2 hours visiting my terminal ill mother and then 6 more hours at my night job. I work as a minimum paid waitress in a shabby diner in Brooklyn, and every other night I work as a bartender in a strip club. Yes, I know. What a luxury.
