Damian's POV Night had fallen over Crescent Valley, but the city was far from asleep. The plaza was still glowing with lantern light and alive with movement—people laughing, music echoing off cobblestone walls, the scent of roasted meats and wildflowers thick in the air. The moon hung proudly above, casting a silver sheen on everything it touched, as if blessing the entire celebration. But none of it meant anything to me.
