Skye’s POV The first thing I noticed when I woke up was the silence. Not the usual, faint hum of maids moving about the hallways or the clinking of dishes from the kitchen — just… silence. My head was pounding from last night, the taste of regret and something far more dangerous still lingering on my lips. Damian wasn’t beside me. I stared at the empty space where his warmth had been, my stomach twisting. It was becoming a pattern — me waking up alone after moments that left me breathless and confused. For a second, I thought about crawling back under the covers and pretending the night never happened. Pretending that I didn’t drunkenly confess something I had sworn I’d never say to him.
