I see Liam running around the corner with his gear on and I know he is on a mission. I am not feeling too well but I know that my heart has sunk with the thought that Liam is going out there to fight and I do not know if he will come back alive.
I shake my head in an attempt to get the thought out of my mind. I can not think that way, I have to believe that he will come back alive. I feel how gentle Sergeant Vincent puts me down on the bed. I look him in the eyes and realize that he is staring at me. I try to avoid his stare and then I see his cheeks turn bright red. I smile a little and then thank him.
“Thank you so much, Sergeant”
“No problem ma’am”
