Chapter 8

Nicki had just decided to go to the LC meeting. Because the whole WU seems to have a compound there are still houses and there is often a party of students there. Nicki was standing outside and peering from gate outside of the two storey houses, from the outside heard the noise of the music and many people were shouting. Even if she was nervous she would have to try to if Honey was telling the truth about the group or Honey didn’t want her to join to the group because was envy to the club, that was her speculation.

The more the student grows and the louder the noise becomes as she enters. She had a few more shoulder strokes with the crowd and almost no one was there. Have a drink, notice some prefer in the dark and others dance on the dance floor. 

Nikki stopped when a guy stopped in front of her. He was smiling at Nikki while moving closer to her. He remembered he was the guy in football field and the guy that Chelsea kissing in the library. Nikki stopped, “hey,” he greeted at her.

She just gave him a smile and couldn't speak. Another man was traveling with a young man who was intoxicated with alcohol. She left and went into the living room. There were groups of people who wanted to join and those who used to do the task. Melody approached her while smiling, “hello! I thought you wouldn’t come, you know what all we gave a form you are the only I remembered.”

“Really?” Melody pulled her closer to the two friends of her.

“Guys, here she is.”

Nikki was confused how they acted in front of her and like excited to see her.

“Hi,” Chelsea greeted at her at Miley give her cold treatment. “Okay we are now completed, you can now sit there,” Chelsea invited her.

Melody brought her to her seat with newcomers like her. She noticed that from the start and from those who wanted to join in, she had only one who wears a simple dress. Chelsea will go ahead as leader and explain the mission.

Miley then approached the newcomers carrying a fish ball and just kept a piece of paper. She once said to pull out one that Nicki had made and Miley returned to Chelsea. “Good evening my fellow Westernian that would like to join in our sisterhood but before you can join to our club or in our group, every each of the paper you picked a has different task. Once you were done on that task and yes we are there to watch you if you did it right. Who are the new comer who complete the task are now officially new members of Lassies’ member.”

Almost everyone with Nicki was excited except for her as she felt a gentle ascent her chest feeling of pounding heart inside. She didn't know if it was because of excitement or because she was afraid she might get a different task.

“You can now open the paper you’ve picked,” Melody said.

Almost all of Nicki groups opened their picked paper except for her. She slowly opened it as she closed her eyes and as she opened her eyes she read what was written using her mind. ‘Special room?’ Miley took each paper one by one and write a name on the paper they picked. “What’s the meaning of this?” She asked herself.

Immediately, Miley pulls her the piece of paper and sees the girl's grin. Nicki was also shocked when Miley approached her two other friends. The two was shocked and smiled as what Nikki picked.

“Oh some got a special task,” Melody whispered.

“What’s the meaning of that?” Nikki asked them.

“This is very special ah---what’s your name again girl?” Chelsea asked her before she continues.

“Nikki.”

“Oh Nicki, this is very special. If you pass this very special task you can be us. Your task is about to enter the restricted room in history department.”

Nicki's chest exploded further as she heard what that task meant. It was her chance to find that room but she suddenly felt scared and nervous when it came to her task. It was as if she felt something bad happened if she continue the task. “Don’t worry about it, we come with you and look if you complete the task. You will in prison there for five minutes I guess and we are just outside,” Melody explained.

“You will in prison me there?” Nikki blow in disbelief until her nervousness didn’t calm down. In her whole life she didn’t feel this way, fear and mixed emotion for the first time.

“I think she couldn’t do it,” Miley sarcastically said while looking how pale it is right now and scared.

“No, I will do it. I know I can.” She can’t turn back and she need to take the task seriously.

“Good,” the three girls said in unison. Chelsea and Miley moved away from her and melody pulled her to the long table of food and drinks.

Melody took a cocktail drink and reached out to Nikki, “drink it, it’s delicious,” Nikki smell before she drink it. She almost to puke to the taste of alcohol because that was the first time she drink alcohol.

Melody offered her food and anything else. Nicki once again wondered how the LC's morals had turned out to be as bad as it seemed like Honey said. She thought Honey was making stories because LC was most popular group of the campus. “You know what you can choice whether when do you want to do you task. It was fine and it’s your choice,” Melody suddenly speaks, “and you are now officially member of the club same with you new comers, just need to finish you task just like how much you wanted to join us.”

“Okay,” she was enjoying to accompany Melody because it was seems so friendly and kind towards her. Melody being talkative might her fear and nervousness faded away slowly. I think I could be friends with them if I finish my task.
